Hey Dan, nice article..

I am only young, 19 years of age. I am currently using Olive oil for my shaving, which is also a very good alternative. What olive oil and your hand lotions have in common as they both moisturise skin well and they don't contain any chemicals like sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate (makes the shaving cream expand and foam), which can dry the skin, especially for those who may have drier skin/sensitive skin..

Any other natural creams and oils should be used more publicly, instead of shaving creams.

It's funny that what's best to shave with isn't even made for shaving, isn't it? I shave my face and skull every day, and I've had very good luck with Jason's 85% aloe vera, as well as Aloe Vera Farms organic aloe vera "gelee". I should add that I use a DE (double edge) razor, so I can't speak to how either of these will work with a Gillette or Schick, but I don't think it would be a problem.

This article is absolutely true, in my experience. The next best is Body Shop jar a cream with some exotic fair trade ingredients. It is great, but expensive. The cheapo cream is always available, and also uses up the little travel bottles that I accumulate. This also means that I never carry shave cream in by travel bag, as I can always find hand cream in the hotel or guest bathroom.

I've been mixing it 50/50 with "On the Go" shave gel that I found at Dollar Tree... which is the slickest shave gel I've EVER used (even beyond the Gillete Multi-glide) and it makes for an even better shave. It gives the moisturizing of the lotion plus the super-slickness of the gel. :-)

I just tried it. Takes a little getting used to but way better then spending a fortune!
